Policy you can check.
The Evidence Party is a new UK political party. Every policy it adopts will say what it is meant to change, link to the evidence for it, and say how sure that evidence is.
Being formed · Not yet registered with the Electoral Commission
How we decide
Every policy is published with five things. A policy without them does not go to a vote.
- What it should change. The outcome it is meant to move, named before it is adopted.
- The evidence. A link to the source, so anyone can read it.
- How sure we are. The size of the expected effect, and how uncertain it is.
- What it depends on. The conditions it needs, and whether they hold in the UK.
- The value choice. Where a policy favours one outcome or group over another, we say which and why.
Where there is no evidence yet, we say so, and label the position as a value choice rather than a finding. When the evidence shows a policy will not work, we change it or drop it, and keep a public record of every change.
Everything in the open
- Every penny. Every transaction the party makes will be published here with its receipt, along with its full bank statements. The party has no bank account yet, so there is nothing to show.
- Every member. Members are named publicly. Being in the open is part of what membership means.
- Every decision. Decisions, the evidence behind each policy, and every policy we have changed will be published.
Where the evidence comes from
Our policies will draw on the maps of UK systems published by Systems Atlas Project, alongside other published research.
Systems Atlas Project is a separate company. Both were founded by the same person, Jude Gordon. The Evidence Party has no power to change, delay or hold back anything Systems Atlas Project publishes, including findings that go against us.
